Speedy Romeo pizza
Roomie bonding day… first day! Katie moves in, then we went to Ikea together with her friend Sean (her old roomie) and found a lot of fun stuff for our apartment. We talked about Richmond and people we knew there, where we used to live (we used to live across the street from each other on Kensington!) and how small the world was.
Katie—- she’s super sweet, wears cute glasses and I get such a kind vibe coming from her. We went to Speedy Romeo for that great pizza I saw and sure enough Sean, a fellow chef, talked with the owner and raved at the pies that came out. “This is my new favorite place,” he said over the Saint Louie and The Kind Brother (pickled chilis, italian sausage….// mushrooms, sage, egg…) . The octopus appetizer sent it over the top, or maybe the on-the-house mozzarella and eggplant plate… oh man, the entire night was so good.
I’m so glad I live next to good food, it was always really important to me in Richmond and here it’s just two-fold.
Now we’re busy drinking Maker’s Mark and beer and putting together Ikea furniture for the rest of the night. Love it.
I'm as calm as a fruit stand in New York, and maybe as strange.
